Rules & Regulations
   

Reference to the rules for library users which are approved from the authorities.

    LENDING RULES:
  1.

The number of books will be issued, 2 books only for 7 days.

  2.

Presentation of a valid library card is must for any checking at the circulation desk.

  3.

Loan may be renewed for further 7 days (only one time) if the same book has not been reserved by another user. Overdue books will not be reissued.

  4.

Reference Material, CD- ROMs, annual reports, pamphlets, current/bound periodicals, reports and newspapers cannot be checked out. They can only be consulted within the library premises. Photocopy facility is available where copyright rules permit.

  5.

The number of books will be issued, 2 books only for 7 days.

  6.

Books already checked-out by some other user can be reserved. On receiving the book, the librarian will inform the requesters to collect the book. If the book is not collected within two days, the reservation would be considered cancelled.

  7.

If accidentally lost or misplace a material and could not find it, report this fact to the librarian immediately to avoid further overdue fine, provided cost of the material is paid immediately, otherwise fine will go on accumulating.

  8.

Books accidentally damaged should be reported so that suitable assessments can be made and damages paid.

    FINES
   

The violation of rules may be result in the following fines:

   

OVERDUE BOOKS

  9.

Rs. 50 per book (material) per day for first 10 days. Actual current price of the book (material) will be deducted from the pay thereafter.

   

LOST BOOKS

  10.

In case of loss or damage, the library user will be replaced the material.

   

RESEVED MATERIAL

  11.

This material (which is already reserved for any user) is issued for three hours only. If the material is not returned within the allocated time, he/she will be charged Rs. 10 on each extra.

    GENERAL RULES:
  12.

Do not write, underline or mark any material Do not mutilate the material. Library material is carefully examined on the return and the borrower will be held responsible for the damage.

  13.

After reading, leave the books on the table or on the trolley. Please do not shelve the books.

  14.

Complete Silence should be observed except for the brief and subdued talk with the library staff at reference desk or during the study group discussions.

  15.

Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the library.

  16.

Drinks and eatables are not allowed in the library.

    NOTE:
  1.

Any violation of these rules will have seriously disciplinary action.

  2.

Library timings will be according to the parent organization, The Urban Unit.
